"The government isn't listening at all"."How does professional development alleviate the stress of working 60 hours a week?
"The Workload Challenge was more smoke and mirrors rather than a serious attempt to tackle the enormous burdens teachers are facing."
Just some of the comments made within this article.
Teachers are the educators for the Nation. Teaching is a vital element within society which at its very best challenges, stimulates and ignites a passion for lifelong learning. Teachers also provide in effect many hours of child minding because when children are in school being taken care of by teaching staff, it allows parents to get on with their lives and to work. So there are many aspects which can be analysed with regards to teaching as to its essential role within society.
Now in addition the value of getting good results and even excellent results is only achievable with dedicated, professional and valued teaching staff. So my question is:
How does a 1% below inflation pay award, reward them??
This is a very good short article which explains the benefits of Clinical Hypnotherapy for teachers. As can be seen Diane explains that teachers are very hard working, aim to do their utmost best and have to engage and stimulate class after class. This can be and often is extremely tiring. In addition those teachers have to take home marking, administration work as well as having to attend a lot of meetings. In addition we at Therapy 4 Teachers would add that constant change is a major source of stress for teachers as well as financial pressures. As such we at Therapy 4 Teachers UK have decided to continue to offer our therapy sessions at reduced rates:
It comes as no surprise to us at Therapy 4 Teachers UK. Stress is a major factor affecting individual teachers and the teaching profession as a whole. One factor is the continual change which seems to happen just for change's sake. Also there are financial pressures especially with the complete shake up of teacher's pay tables and the whole scale introduction of performance related pay and no automatic progression to higher levels of pay. Then there has been a pay freeze instigated to cap pay at 1% per annum until 2020, how can that be fair or justified? Then there are organisational faults where the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. It seems bizarre that a profession that is so vital to our society and all our futures is so undervalued:
How can this be at all fair? Education of our children is vital. Education of our children is a profession to be proud of. However, to award our teaching profession with a paltry 1% increase in their pay when inflation is running well ahead of this does not in any measure reflect the value of the teaching profession, how can it? However, to find out that six in ten teachers did not even get that pathetic increase is very concerning is it not?
Teaching is very busy, teaching is noisy, teaching is filled with performance reviews and that is just for the teachers!
